Timothy Frye, Ph.D.
Professor of Mathematics
Biography:
Email: timothyf@tabor.edu
Phone: 620-947-3121 xt. 1131
Department: Mathematics
Tim grew up outside of Dover, Kan., and went to Mission Valley High School. Received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma, and enjoyed the environment so much that he decided to stay for graduate school. He and his wife, Asia, have a baby daughter, Abilene, who was named before Tim and Asia knew they would be living so close to Abilene, Kan.
One of Tim’s primary goals is to eliminate the misconception that mathematics is just about computation.
“Math is about solving problems, critical thinking, and analyzing new situations,” he says. “Once students develop skills in these areas, they can use them to analyze arguments in all walks of life, thinking critically about questions professional, existential, and transcendental.”
