Jayakar Dalavai, Ph.D., S.C.P.M.
Associate Professor of Business Administration
Biography:
Email:jayakard@tabor.edu
Jayakar, alongside the entire business department, helps students recognize what it means to be a steward of God’s resources. Jayakar’s mission is to be a servant in God’s kingdom and promote ethical, spiritual and honorable cultural values in changing demographic institutions and together value students’ gifts and support them to realize their goals in life.
I believe it is a very determined effort yet I feel burdened to serve new generations as they enter a critical and complex period in the global economic setting.
Jayakar likes to interact with students and being a part of their lives. He helps students dream and facilitates them to accomplish those dreams. At Tabor, Jayakar expects to share his Mennonite Brethren upbringing in India in conjunction with his 36 years of U.S. experiences and strengthen the existing bonds of fellowship between U.S. and Indian Mennonite Institutions.
Jayakar worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (now Berkshire Hathaway), Sprint, NORTEL and California State Automobile Association during his 33 year work life in U.S.A. Jayakar’s academic experiences include 6 years of teaching and administration with Loyola Academy and St. Anthony’s Post Graduate College, both affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
Jayakar has two sons, a daughter and four grand children. He is married to Julianna.
