Women's Tennis

April 22:

The Tabor women’s team defeated Friends University in their opening round of the KCAC tournament. Next for the team will be a semi-final match against Bethany College to be played at Hesston High School at 9AM on Friday morning. The women’s win over Friends puts them in the top 4 of the conference again. Good job ladies!

April 21:

Men will play Southwestern at 3PM today (Monday the 21st) at our courts here in Hillsboro. The ladies will play Tuesday at home, 3PM against Kansas Wesleyan. Both matches are quarterfinal matches of the KCAC Conference Tournament.

April 17:

The Tabor women lost to Bethany College this afternoon at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson Kansas. Their lone win came at #1 Singles, where senior Laurel Delamater defeated Bethany’s top player with a demanding score of 6-0, 6-0. Bethany is the defending champ and should battle Bethel for the top spot this year. Their were some other very close matches that the women feel in, and overall had a good day of playing.

April 16: The Tabor women faced Kansas Wesleyan on the 16th, and also Bethel College on the 12th of this week. They dropped their match against Bethel, and they came back with a strong showing at Salina against Kansas Wesleyan, beating them on their home courts 8-1. By the way the seeds are looking, the Bluejays will probably have to battle Kansas Wesleyan again in Hillsboro on Tuesday the 22nd in Hillsboro, which will be the quarterfinals of the KCAC tournament.

April 12: The Tabor women played 2 tough matches this week, playing both Friends and Southwestern in Wichita. They came up with a split, losing to Southwestern, and then going on to beat Friends 6-3 at the Riverside Tennis Complex. While the day had it’s ups and downs, the women felt good about coming away with their win over Friends. That win over Friends pushed the women’s winning streak to 4 consecutive matches, dating back to March 10th.

April 5: The Tabor women came away with 2 huge wins this weekend, playing John Brown and McPherson. Tabor came away with a close 5-4 with over John Brown, and dominated McPherson college in McPherson. The McPherson match is the opening conference match, so coming away with a win was great. The team is very young and will surely build on the momentum.

March 10: The Tabor women played 3 very tough matches in the last 2 days. First off, they lost to a very talented William Jewell team 3-6 in Hillsboro on the 8th. On the 10th, they traveled to Bartlesville for a triangular against Oklahoma Wesleyan as well as NCAA Div. 3 University of the Ozarks. The women dropped the first match to OWU 2-7, and battled back for a 5-4 win over U of Ozarks. The way overall a good day, and hopefully the win will bring some confidence to a very young team heading into the conference season.
