Men's Tennis

April 22:

The Tabor men’s tennis team advanced to the second round of the KCAC tournament with a decisive 7-0 victory over Southwestern College on Monday in Hillsboro.

Next up for the Bluejays is a second-round match against regular season conference champion Bethany College, to be played at 9 a.m. Saturday in Newton or Hesston. (We will update this report with the location as soon as possible.)

April 21:

Men will play Southwestern at 3PM today (Monday the 21st) at our courts here in Hillsboro. The ladies will play Tuesday at home, 3PM against Kansas Wesleyan. Both matches are quarterfinal matches of the KCAC Conference Tournament.

April 17:

The Tabor men were defeated by Bethany 9-0 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson. #2 and #3 doubles both lost in tiebreakers, and the #6 singles match went 3 sets. The match was closer than 9-0, but Bethany is the defending champs and the team to beat. The team fought hard but came up short. The team now looks forward to the quarterfinals of the KCAC tournament. They will most likely host Southwestern College in Hillsboro next Wednesday. The winner will go on to face Bethany in the semi-finals. The conference tournament will be played at Bethel College in Newton KS as well as Hesston High School.

April 16:

The Tabor men faced Kansas Wesleyan University on the 16th, and Bethel College on the 12th. The men dropped their match to Bethel and came back with a big win in Salina against Kansas Wesleyan 6-3. The men will more than likely get another shot at Bethel College in the conference tournament.

April 12:

The Tabor men played 2 matches this week, coming up with a split. After losing to Friends in Wichita, they defeated Southwestern 5-2. They now look against to play Bethel and Bethany in the upcoming week. Both will be big matches leading to the conference tournament.

April 5:

The Tabor men had a great weekend, with 2 big wins. One against John Brown University and the other against McPherson college. They defeated McPherson 9-0 and John Brown 8-1. There were some great matches throughout the weekend that the Bluejays seem to pull out at every spot. Being the end of spring break, which meant a week without practice, it was great to pick up 2 big wins. That currently puts the men’s team on a 3 match win streak, dating back to the match against the University of the Ozarks.

March 10:

The Tabor men played 3 matches in the past 2 days. They dropped 2 matches by the score of 2-7 to regional foe Oklahoma Wesleyan as well as William Jewell, and finished out the stretch with a big 5-4 win over NCAA Div. 3 University of the Ozarks, down in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It was a great confidence booster for the men as they look forward to spring break and the start of conference.
