We are new to Hillsboro and to Tabor, and we are all very excited to be a part of this community. I went to school in Andover, and my husband went to school in Liberal before we met at Emporia State University. My husband is the vocal music teacher in Marion, KS and together we have 2 daughters, Sophie and Julia. Our family loves to play outside, play the piano and sing, and travel to see our families.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2006 from ESU in Elementary Education. I later completed my Master’s degree from Emporia in 2010 in Curriculum and Instruction. During college I was very involved in the music department and campus Greek life. I served as the drum major for the marching band for 2 years, and I played the clarinet in the concert band. Before coming to Tabor I taught 5th grade for 7 years. I was eager to make a change toward working in higher education, and the opportunity to work as an Admissions Counselor seemed just perfect. I still get to interact with people every day, and I have the opportunity to help them as they work toward meeting their college goals.
I have a passion for cooking and feeding people good food! I have an extra special place in my heart for pasta and Italian food. I also love to read, watch movies, spend time with my family, and meet new people. I love staying connected with my friends, as well as developing new relationships and friendships.
