Department: Visual Art

Shin-hee Chin is an evangelical, born-again Christian artist. She was born in a Christian family; both her grandfathers served as educators in Korea, and one of them was martyred, along with 500 other pastors, by communists during the Korean war.

She relishes the opportunity to teach at Tabor, where she can educate the future generation of Christian artists. The most rewarding aspect of teaching for her is to see students incorporate Christian faith into their art in a creative way.

Shin-hee Chin is an internationally exhibited artist from McPherson, Kansas. Her work includes oil painting, mixed media, and fiber art. Her artwork has been exhibited globally, including the Metropolitan Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan, Shanghai International Convention Center in China, Carrefour Européen du Patchwork in France, Abil Mente Gallery in Vincenza, Italy, and Jin Heung Art Hall in Seoul, Korea.

With her husband, Ku-Sup Chin, Shin-hee has two bilingual, bicultural children: Grace Dallae Chin and Caleb Sol Chin.
